Question for people with pools.

What type of pool cleaner are you using? We haven't been in this house long and the previous owners paid a company to do it. The house/pool are only 2 yrs old. I'm online looking at them now.

We get all of our stuff at country power and equipment, I think they are a decently large chain. They test the water for free and recommend what products to use. The local ppl here are awesome.

Biguanide products are over priced, and not as effective. Bacteria & other contaminates can become immune to it after a season or 2.

10 years an running no huge issues here, but we do drain it every couple years. With these products the liners last much longer.

Chlorine will always be the best sanitizer/oxidizer as it is cheaper, and more effective. Chlorine also will do no damage to a pool liner if you keep the levels balanced.

A brittle liner is do to a low pH level(acidic). A crusty like buildup of scale is do to a high pH. People often confuse those thing and blame everything on chloring. That's how it gets a bad rep.

Have you ever seen the markup on biguanide products? Try mostly upto 73%.

x2 And at the start of each season, i add 1 gallon of muratic acid, it helps to clear the water sooner.
