A friends toshiba laptop got destroyed but I guess harddrive was saved. Its the l45-s4687 model. Is there a way to get the info from it to transfer onto another or is there another toshiba that this harddrive will go into?

Ive done it with desktops but never had to or tried on a laptop.

Thanks appreciate the help.

If the hard drive is still fully functional you should just be able to put it into another laptop and boot with it...

If that doesn't work, just find a laptop with two hard drive slots (mine has two) and stick it in the secondary, you could boot off the primary and move whatever files your worried about.

Are you just wanting to recover the documents on the drive? If it's a SATA drive, it'll plug into any SATA port on a desktop, and work just as if it were a 3.5" hard drive. It's a PATA drive, you'll need an adapter. They sell 3.5"-2.5" to USB adapters all over the internet. It won't be plug and play into a new laptop, due to drivers causing incompatibility.
