question bout which subs

i have an memphis 1100 mono D amplifier. I have two 2005 12" Kicker solo baric L7's but they are goin bad. First of all, would one w7 work with my amp and second would it sound better and hit harder than two new 2008 kicker solobaric L7's? So pretty much one w7 or stick with the L7's?

how exactly are they "going bad"

the voice coils are detaching from the cone and are making an awful rattling noise

i guess i am more of a "it either works correctly or doesn't" guy

i would say those are already bad
