Question bout amp, wireing.

This question makes me feel a little stupid...haha, But I really want to know. So here it goes.

If you have a 2 channel amp can you wire a channel to each voice coil on a sub? So have Channel 1 going to one voice coil, And channel 2 going to the other?

Also could you do this with a mono amp?

Yes that is how you do it with a two channel amp

the amp will see each coils ohm's so if you have a dual 4 ohm sub each channel will see 4 ohms. Now if you wire a mono amp to each coil on the dual four sub the amp will see either a two ohm load or an eight ohm load since you are combining the coils.

I forgot to mention that there is a good chance that you can bridge your two channel amp which usually gives you more power and turns it into a "mono' amp. This is usually the best option for a two channel amp.

I dont understand the concepts of 2 channel. In general if it says 500wrms an there are two subs how much will go to each???
