hey guys...

sorry about the previous thread anyways didnt want to mess with wiring my car so i got it wired at a shop and when i got home didnt even notice at the shop that they threw 10 gauge wires for the power and ground //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif... anyways it was a pain in the *** to wire my car (E320) and though I was wondering what would happen if i throw my RF 1100watts amp with my 15 se in there and if there is any way to fix this problem??

anyways thanks guys for taking the time to read this and hope i can get some answers...

Well hopefully you have your fuses in place, afterall they are there to protect the wire. In which case your fuses will just pop like mad, and your wire will get worm. If you put bigger fuses or have none your wire will get too hot and melt the plastic usually starting a fire and would most likely burn your car down.

Yes, they are.

There is a guy here who had his Golf (or Jetta?) burn to the ground.

Maybe search for the pics... I don't think this is what you want to happen. And never go back to that shop again... any shop that takes that job (wiring a car) without specifically asking what wire to use is not one I would ever trust to work on my car.

wow dude im so angry right now i was so stupid to not even notice it when it was done. I had one 12 with a 1000 watt amp ( very decent system) in it and didnt notice any problems or even the 10 gauge wiring until i sold everything and bought a few new things //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif another re sub and the rf amp and noticed the 10 gauge wiring...

its killing me right now and im thinking about going there tomorrow and having them switch out the wiring by telling them that wiring fried my amp or something idk

any thoughts on what I should do or even say?

thanks guys

so the wiring is in your car and it isn't causing any problems. How bout you tell us the model numbers on everything so we can let you know if it is really causing any problems since 10 gauge can handle like 400 rms watts most of the time.

So it's been 3 months and a day since my beloved vw golf, 18inch tc 5200, my boys a3000db, beefy electrical, and the last 3 years of car audio slave labor i put into that car..........burned to the ****ing ground. as we all have seen the vids it was a day to remember. some laughed, i cried, and now i'm stuck with a cobalt. and i really dont like cobalts. i'm lucky that insurance came through and i have this cobalt via parents, but ****it i'd give anything to have that golf back.

3 months and it hurts. Sure my ear drums are safer without the 146dB's daily, but like a drug we all know, the cravings are there. It saddens me when the stock radio runs out out of volume, and there's BARELY enough ummpphhh on the lows and mids (the highs blow). Every day i think of what it was like listening to In The Air Tonight or Blue Berry Yumyums......it sucks so much *** now. i'd break bones to get back what i had with that shitbox of a golf. Sadly, it really seemed like blissful happiness through a cool stereo. I was living the dream, and then it all was taken away.

Basically with this depressing rant i'm getting at that you guys should take some time and reapreciate your stereo. Just take a moment and be thankful it's in your car, and not stolen, broken, or toasted. My stereo ment the world to me as i'm sure everyone elses does to them. Remember how nice it is to have it, because it can be gone the very next day.

R.I.P. golf shitbox
