question about truck box design idea

I have almost exactly 8 cubes gross squeezing every inch out from behind the seats of my standard cab truck. would there be an issue with running the port underneath the center armrest facing the front of the truck, replacing the center seat like they do in the stealth boxes and then just bolting the top portion of the seat (the center armrest) back to the port just like the stealth boxes? i've attached a picture for better idea what i mean

its an 02 dodge ram.... i got 8 cubes, its about 1.5 inches over the window line but i can spare it , 60 wide, 11 deep, and window line is 25" so ill be about 1.5" over the window line but i can spare it. and i got no problem building it... im just curious if the port that far forward is a problem

why so many doubters? have you ever seen behind the seats of the 02-05 standard cab dodges? if you haven't i suggest you do, if you have, speak up, trust me... i got it. I could pull it up to the bottom of the window latch (30") and have 9.1 ft^3 gross, but i'd like to be able to see out my back window without looking over the top of a box

I have no doubt you can fit it. I just doubt how long you'll want to sit with your seat at 90 degrees. Why not build a wedge shape box and go with 3-12s or 4-10s or something?

i've had a box this tall before just not all the way across, didn't have to move my seat forward at all.

this box is 18" tall and 10.25" deep... and thats without removing the rear paneling which has 1.5" of foam and the passanger seat is ALL the way back

well there is still a good 15-18" from the end of the port to the bottom of the dash, its not smack up against it, but having the subs firing into the seats and the port firing into the front of the truck... i don't know the dynamics behind that kind of separation

Looks like a cool design. I say try it out and if it doesn't sound right cut out the port and do aeroports firing up.

that was pretty much the plan, i was just hoping someone else could chime in and go "i tried it worked fine" or "i tried it sounded like garbage"

also make the port protrude into box a little do not do it flush with inside of box

only like a inch or so

did not know that, whats the purpose of that? i've seen a handful of aeroports external that don't protrude in the box, im just curious

if your port is going to be that large you may get some unwanted unloading thats all

even the flare on inside of aeros is enuff to disturb air flow enuff to maintian pressure

My non-expert suggestion would be to make the intended port a part of the box if you need it for the volume sake and have a slot port that fired to the passenger side.

Is the box already built? If not an alteration of plans is another decision that can be made, right?
