Question about subs in the trunk

I have a pair of Alipne Typr Rs in my trunk in a sealed box in my Forenza 04. We I really bump them the trunk and licsense rattle pretty bad. I got all of this stuff installed from a Audio store and I called them and he told me to put some dynomat basically all over the trunk and that would damper the sound. He said I would need about 20 sq ft and it would cost me $125 + tax and if they were to install it it would be 300+ tax so is there any other way I can damper this sound so that it doesnt rattle?

play some bass go to the license plate put your finger on it to see where its rattling-then get a friend to run along behind with their finger on the spot! while you bump!

I would put something on the licsense plate but is the whole trunk. He said they took off the plate and it still rattled so do you guys know of any material, like the dynomat, that would help stop the rattling?

u can dynamat/sound deaden yourself unless your totally incapable of cleaning/scrubbing the trunk/trunk lid and peeling and sticking deadener on...or spraying if you are going with liquid deadener...

$300 to install 20 sq. ft? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

Look at:

Or also look for Raamat (think thats how its spelled), FatMat, and BrownBread. Lots of options, all of them cheaper than that crazy shit the shop told you.

The cheapest option of all would be to simply go to lowes/home depot, and grab some peel and seel out of the roofing section. Not a very good option, but the cheapest.

Yep Dynamat is expensive, but insome thread in this forum I read a guy saying that he had found something called peel and seal or something like that. also that it is the fraction of the cost and looks and does everything exactly like the dynamat. search the forum Im pretty sure you can find it

I took the frame of the license plate thing off (the one with the advertisements) and stuffed a small rag under the plate (not noticeble). ANd it completly stopped license plate rattle.

Buy A roll of RAAMAT, easy to apply, 60 mil thick = less work for you, 60x2.5' (or whatever it is) > 4x4'! for the price, if your going to do the truck, Cover that shit with 2 layers and do it right the first time. Might as well have No rattle right, rather than a reduced rattle?

Also the RAAMAT is not Tar based, which I hear is a godo thing I have not worked with Tar bassed matting, but I hear the rubber based RAAMAT works better.

I just called another place and they said go to home depot and get some triple expanding foam and spray that on all the beams and then let that dry and take it in to them and they will put the dynamat on the trunk and behind the lights and stuff and that total will be like $105 he said. I really dont wanna do that , to expensive. I already put a good amount of money into the car. If i put a ocuple layers of that stuff you suggested, the rubber based material, it should stop the rattle completely?
