question about powering multiple amps..

I veen trying to post many times about the current issue but the page keep dying on me maybe I write to much. never Compare A ram from a regular car. the truck needs this alternator for work a regular car is made for granma to go to the store and the alternator is not made to over charging it.

the alternator is made to keep the battery alive , not to charge the battery as this will damage the regulator inside and this is expensive every time you add more than 2 amps you must upgrade the power sourse.

I wasnt trying to compare the Alernators, I was just saying that is what mine had. I know the alternator doesn't 'charge' the battery, basically it keeps the system from draining the battery. Anyway, I do agree that if you are going to go with more than two amps, depending on what you already have you need to get a bigger alternator.

As for where to find the Alt size, I dont know, my window sticker has it, and also under my hood there is a label that has the size.

A cap is a band-ade as it has been said many times. I personally would recomend looking at a new alternator first, then maybe a cap for a little extra.

i am running a rf 150s amp (approx 175 wrms and 300 peak) and my lights dim. that's in a 94 sundbird. pounds good though for the amount of power. i'm beating guys running 600 + lol

If you have 300w peak you only have 106.05wRMS But a Good combination between amplifier, sub-woofer and acoustic if yours sound better than the others. if you add a capacitor the low notes will sound cleaner without diming your lights. happy boom,boom. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
