Question about Plexi

well preety much i could make my own and go to all the hassle of cutting ect, or blasting it ect...but i figure i can just buy that one and flush mount it on a piece of 3/4 MDF...like...its kinda hard to explain, but i would honesly have no need to teh actually light bar part of it, just the piece of plexi, so my first question is...

hwo would i cut teh ligh bar completley off, table saw?

adn my second question is hwo would i fit the LED's in teh MDF without actually seeing the bar and just the glow

did i just confuse u more, lol...hope not

i am kinda aiming for, just so everyone knows....as far as the positioning ect...

Well the picture on ebay is carved in the plexi, not etched, and some of the 3D effect is lost with etching. However, when you heat the edges of plexi, it clears up like glass, so light transfer thru it to create the effect you want. Once you rought out a channel to accept the plexi, you can glue, screw or frame the plexi in place. Wire up 1-4 LEDs along the edge and you are done.

Make sense?

Actually it is quite easy to do with a small sand blaster. Several how tos' can be found online.
You can pick up an airblasting set from many art stores for as little as $40. Comes with the aluminum blasting media, the brush/gun, hoses, and everything except the compressor.
