Question about my back seat... blocking sub's output?

I have a '92 Bonneville. The back seat DOES NOT fold down. The back of the rear seat inside the trunk has a plastic piece like seen in this pic:

It is semi-rigid plastic, about 1/16" thick.

My question is, do you think that this blocks the bass output enough to justify taking it out? As of right now, my output is good, but any little bit helps I suppose.

Yes. I rip things out of my car all the time simply because they rattle. As long as that thing doesn't hold the car together, it would at least be worth a try.

Had a Bonneville my self. Had the same issue... just got for it!!!....helps the sound a bit...but for sure dont cut out seat mounts....or you could do a hinge system while doing all that...not hard at all.

i should try and hinge the buick back seat, not sure it would work, though.
