question about multiple runs

I understand the advantages of running multiple runs to your second battery but I'm curious if you would be able to see any improvement by running say two runs of 0g to a distro block instead of just 1. Would this work? or would it be pointless?
the more power you can get to the amp the better that is why cactus has 6-8

0awg inputs on each amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

so this would be beneficial to those who don't have second batteries. I don't really have much voltage drop at all right now but in the future I may try this to see what happens.

it will for sure give your amp more power, though it depends on the current draw and type of wire you are using to tell whether or not there will be an audible differance. also try to keep the distro block as close to the amp as possible.

at 15 ft of power wire with 2000W(150A) load, you would see around 0.225V drop with 0ga.http://www.stealth316.com/2-wire-resistance.htm

From that chart it looks like you might save 0.04V by adding a second 0ga run. Hardly worth it unless you have many runs.
dont forget you loose with ring terminals, fused links, splice's,distro blocks and so on .unless you you have a strait shot from the batt you will loose some.unless you are trying for a street A record with 2 5000+ watt amps save your money put it towards a batt

thanks that link is very helpful. I've always kind of wondered what would happen because I don't really wanna add another battery. I do plan on getting a HO alt though.

you should give us more detail on what you have first.because if you are running 2000+ watts off the front battery you would hear a difference with multiple runs of power wire.it's a proven fact look at any dbddrag class where you can only run 1 battery in the front.most of the time with one run you cant even keep the amp/s from going into protect

well the question was more generally based.

I'm going to get a HO alt instead of another battery because of space, but I was curious if multiple runs to a distro would help people in similar situations.

My setup when I finish it will consist of around 1800rms combined between sub and high amp. I already have a hc1800, 1 run of 0g split into 4g to each amp(about a foot of 4g from distro to each amp), and stock alt for now.

yes the more runs of wire the better. Well when running 2000+ watts anyways.and you know that the ho alt will help but it has no reserve so once you drive down the street beatin your system your battery has no more to give and now the alt is going to work harder then it should.have you looked into some of the smaller batts like battcap, kinetik, oddesey ect ect. I'm not saying what you are doing wont work. but it's just food for thought.

yea I realize that, I was going to try that setup and see how it does then if I have to I was going to get a hc600 or hc800 to squeeze somewhere.
