Question about low end

My current box is 6.5 ft^3 tuned to 32 with ~80 sqin. of port, sub up port forward firing towards the hatch in my pathfinder. The response from 33hz and down SUCKS, so I'm going to be building a large low tuned 4th order for it. My question is, is a lot of the crappy response from my box, or is there a possibility that my car just really doesn't like lows?

O right the Pathfinder... Where you able to check resonance?

Peaks at around 37-38hz from ear, and all though my box is tuned to 32hz the sub moves the least amount at 27hz so it's unloading pretty hard onto the hatch (there is about a 6-8" gap between the port and the hatch, and the port is about 4" wide iirc)

That's what I was thinking if it's lowering my tuning that much. I'm thinking maybe my box is a bit small cause the Q's love big boxes (6-10 cubes ported and mine is at the minimum)

Hoping the bandpass performs better, plus it will have a removable port so I will be able to dial things in a lot better

Try moving the box closer to the hatch. Mine is like 4.5-5" away.
