Question about line level converters?

Just a quick question. If you add a line level converter to a factor 4 speaker deck, so you can run a sub, do you tap into the existing speaker lines? If so wouldn't that change the impedance of the output and potentially cause the head unit to put out more power than its rated for?

Or do these line level converters have really high impedance?

Or are you expected to disconnect a set of speakers?

It doesn't change anything, just used the signal to create RCA outputs. I've done this on several installs and have never noticed an issue.
