New to forums, couple questions and hello!

Hey guys, new to the forums but I've been into car audio for awhile now, then took a break. I just sold my old car. (I should have taken out my old 9815 alpine deck and alpine screen!) I didn't know they still had value haha. I'm now shopping for another car and want to go for SQ.

It's crazy because I look at prices now and I see that some woofers are still going for the same price as 5 years ago!!!

in the past i've ran these subs in my car.

12W7

2x 12" Kicker L7

15" Orion H2

15" Adire Audio Brahma

2x 10" Phoenix Gold Titanium

my speakers were JL audio XRs I believe, and then for amps i've had JL audio and hifonics.

my favorite subs out of the list were probably the w7, brahma, and phoenix golds

ok long story short, i'm getting a little older and now want to go for mainly SQ, where as when I was younger i wanted SQL.

I remember focal and MB quart were top notch stuff, and then you brands like ID max for mid ranged budget SQ.

What's good now? in terms of SQ, i'm trying to go for a mid-ranged build. This is going to go in a small 2 seater sports car (toyota MR2 sw20) so I need a small super clean sub, maybe a double din deck ( i'm thinking nakamichi) and some really clean speakers.

amps from my experience really don't make a difference in SQ. I believe it's just the actual power rating they can put out so I don't really need any high end amps i'll just be sure to make em not visable lol.

W6v2 is still among the best sq subs, so is Focal. id stay away from MBQ. and ID went under, iirc

I'd stay away from new school Nak. They ain't what they used to be. IDQ's are probably the best sounding sub I've ever heard so they get my vote. Reasonably priced too. It'll be tough to find an "SQ" double din because all companies (and consumers) care about now is bells and whistles. If you're on a budget, the ID cxt comps are tough to beat for SQ per dollar. Id does sound amazing they will not disappoint you.

ID is still in business. Eric Stevens left, and read into that whatever you want, but the company still exists and you can still buy their products. So far as I know, you can still get any of their products other than the hlcd's, since Eric owns the patents on them, and took them with him when he left.
