the mtx's are shit and resale woulda taken too long to make it worth it since he woulda had to try to find a forum member that would sell him more 18's for a good prrice etc...

This was through cl. I have them up there till I go buy wood for a box. I'm entertaining offers in the meantime to see if someones willing to give me a good trade or enough money worthy of me getting rid of them..

the 4500's on ebay are worth about 40ea

55's are 45-50ea and the 75's about 65-70.

I told him i'd maybe take the 75's + $ but he pretty much wanted to just straight trade me for all the junk he has laying around.

I'm kinda kicking myself after declining 2 12w6v2's plus a little cash.. That would've worked in my application alot better. The past is in the past I spose......

The MTX's arent bad in custom boxes but their resale value *****. I have owned a lot of MTX products and they met or exceeded my expectations, even the old red basket RoadThunders. I dont think I would ever buy them new but they are a great value used. The problem is they are too common and standards have gone up as technology expands thus the low resale. Good decision to not trade, I would have been asking for some cash on the side as well.

I told him he'd have to sweeten the offer one way or another. That's when he started insisting what he offered was more than enough. I hit him with the facts and he wanted no part of it.

But yeah, mtx stuff isn't bad at all. I used to have 3 8000's and they were decent in my particular setup. I liked my old modded 1501d too. Those seem to hold there value better then most of the other products.

Well, you did the right thing man..All those subs, i wouldnt even consider putting in my work vehicle..Id buy Lanzar Max pro before id buy any those subs.I know they work/sound decent for the money, and cheeeap price to:toast: Just got to watch out on CList man..its completely open to an abundance of SCAMMERS without morels

Don't get me wrong there are plenty of scammers on CL but the majority of its users are just people with old junk who are unaware of the concept of depreciation and the slow economy makes them ask higher prices for old junk. I used to find good deals all the time but in the past year I have definitely noticed a sharp decline and a rise of what I just mentioned, old junk sold by poor people who dont know the value of it and just want some $ to pay their over due bills. Maybe its different in other areas of the country but my region is one of the hardest hit by the economy and has a unemployment rate higher than the country average.
