question about FI subs???

i was looking into ordering a pair of FI subs... which would be the best flatwind coil or copper coil? what is the BP Power option? thanks alot...

We just added the "BP Power" option to both the SSD and Q series subwoofers. This new option adds a machined aluminum compression plug to the pole which helps channel all of the air under the dustcap around the coil for better cooling. To aid with this increased airflow we also add 6 axial cooling channels in the top plate. Along with increased thermal capacity comes the addition of an extra spider and a changed spider pack.

All of these new features increase power handling from 200-500 Watts depending on the application.

As far as the coil options go flatwind offers higher power handling than does the copper coil.

If you plan on running the amp you have listed in your sig you shouldnt need to upgrade anything on a pair. If you want to know more about their upgrades to to their forums @ http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com it tells you everything.

i was going to sell my setup and get 2 12" FI ssd's and an US Amps MD-1... how will that sound?

you need more than that if you plan to run 2 SSD. A loaded SSD may hanle 700-900w daily.

Maybe you can go with 2 12 Q with Bp options with MD2 a step up from the R's. Good for daily and comps on the weekend.

IMO the ssd's are a step up from the R's...

but thats just my opinion...

Subwoofers don't NEED the rated RMS to sound good.

I have ~500+ rms on mine... and they DEFINATELY did their thing...

Are you sure? I thought anything under their RMS rating caused the sub to freeze in a single position and output be limited.....
