My older silver L's hit harder than the new black series L's..

Well i will say that the old subs rattled more stuff in the car but seemed more flat ...

I used a radio shack analog spl meter on both setups, the new subs are louder...

But why would the old subs make everything rattle in the car ..

My box is ported too....

Tuned lower so you got more lows last time?

bty what are you hitting with that mic? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

My old silver 2 12L7s in a portad box with a mark antony 3000d amp, and a 4 guage wire and no electrical upgrade in a 4 door escort hit 142.8 at two comps 2 summers ago...

I blew the amp but I won 1st in my bracket..

basically the same set-up now ... but a 2500 mark antony.

Ohh yea and the box is a pre fab small azz sub-zone box ..If I had a big truck, with a bigger box, id surely add 3 or more db's I promise...But 142 and a half on average is what I can do as of rite now

I wouldnt even say what i am hitting with this old radio shack sound meter cause it needs to be tuned but it goes one line over the half mrk when on the highest setting

....

If you have this mic then you knowe the highest setting is 120 with - and + db readings which i can get it up to+2 on it..

I am sure that these old mics I needs to be cal'd. These are seriously old mics which evry one will vary ...

But the other post explains what I am doing on the new mic's.

They claim the sub zone has a snail type of curvature inside the port to where it shoots out air faster...!!!!

I think the sub zone boxes are pretty descent is why I never went with a bigger enclosure yet

Most likely your ground. I've seen that happen, the sub looks like it's playing a 5 Hz note. If one piece of equipment doesn't have a good ground...
