Question about electrical upgrades

I just bought a 1500watt MBQ amp, it's gonna be powering a DC level 4 18" woofer. I don't plan on ever turning that gain up past 3/4, so it should only be putting out ~1000 watts @ 1 ohm.

Here's my question what upgrades am i going to need? I understand that I am going to need to do the Big Three, but should I add a second battery, should I upgrade the battery under the hood?

In addition, once I have the amp and sub installed, will there be any negative effects if I set my gains low(~500-600) to take it easy on my electrical, until I can get it upgraded?

if you get a yellow top under the hood and probably a good Kinetik or two in the back you would probably be fine (with the big three of course) but you might have light dimming at night if you are thumping the sit out of the system.

That's not how gain works. Turning it up 3/4 will probably make that amp try to put out 2000-3000 watts and it will be clipped all to hell. Read about gain setting and do it correctly. Then do the big 3 and run 1/0 to the back and ground to the frame and you'll be fine.

You could prolly get away with one battery under the hood and the big three. Do that first, check yer voltage and if your dippin to low add another battery to the back.
