hey guys, here's my problem, i have 0 gauge power wire from batterie to my two amps. my MTX 1000d requires 0 gauge power wire and my phoenix gold Xenon require a four gauge wire. now i have looked at several dist. blocks but i could not find one that has 0 gauge input and 0 gauge output and 4 gauge. i bought a block that takes 0g. in, but has 4- 4 gauge out. dunno if its sounding messy or what! what do you think i should do? if i could only find a 0 g. spliter i could fuse them after! is there such a thing? sorry if it sound retarded! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif I could really use some advises. thanks

You're worrying too much, a 2 foot lenght of 4gauge will carry just as much current as a 20 foot lenght of 0gauge, just go and get a simple 0 in 4-4gauge out distro block, and dont worry so much about having fuses in the distro block itself, its the fuse at the battery thats the big deal, if you want you could put a fuse for the MTX inbetween the distro block and the amp, if the amps have built in fuses its somewhat unecessary as they are already fused to protect against internal short.

Running a new power cable is overkill, just chill an save yourself some money.

ok, so just to clarify, i already have a fused block that is 0g. in and 4-4g. out. so if i get a reducer(witch i don't know where to get more info please) and use the 4g. output of my block that means that i still have to put a fuse in there 'cause no current will flow right?(from the block).

"i already have a fused block that is 0g. in and 4-4g. out"

Use it, mount it close to the amps to keep the lengths of 4g short, it will work no prob. And the distro block is you're reducer.

"and i thought that not using a fuse on the amp was a big no-no"

The fuse you installed close to the battery will serve this purpose.

"and use the 4g. output of my block that means that i still have to put a fuse in there 'cause no current will flow right?(from the block)."

If it is the type of block that requires fuses then yes you will need a fuse in there.Try an 80amp for the MTX, if it ever blows upgrade to the next size.
The MTX require 150amp! i don't think they do maxi fuses bigger than 100amp. you think it will be ok? thanks for your patience, i really appreciate //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You could just make a slug to fit into the spot where the fuse goes, take some tin snips and cut up a small sheet of copper or sheet metal(non galvanized) and plug it in like so. This is assuming you have a fuse at the battery already.

You amps continuous power consumption should be considerably less then 150 amps so give the 80amp a try the worst thing that could happen is that the fuse blows, I used a 100 amp breaker for a 1200 watt classD and a 100watt x4 amp and had no probs.
