question about cerwin vega strokers

hey im new to this forum

ive always wanted a system but could never afford one and im also a noob to this system stuff

now that ive paid off my car ive got about a $2000 budget

i have limited space in my camaro but i was thinking about getting the zx1500.1 kicker amp with a pair of cerwin vega stroker pro 12's that i saw on ebay

anyone have any info about the quality of these subs? ive never heard of them. i was going to get some kicker cvx's but i saw these subs that were rated at a much higher rms

any opinions on these subs or something better for the price? the subs are priced at about 780 on ebay

I highly doubt you will be able to get anywhere near the recommended size enclosure for two of those stroker pros in the camaro without some serious mods.

And why would you power those subs with only 1500wrms?

ya u def need more, my boy has 2 stroker pro 15s on a stetsom 2k6 and it slams, where in NC are u ill sell u my amp, it does 2500 at 1 but the stroker pros are dual 2 so u can run my amp at .5 on them for about 3000 watts

i dunno much about subs, i just wanna get something that i only have to spend money on once and be happy with it and never have to worry about spending money on it again

ill probably get a local shop to hook it up. if yall have any recommendations they are welcome. the biggest box i found for my car is a dual sealed 12 in box with 1.50 cubic airspace per sub

i really appreciate the help guys and i have about a 2000 dollar flexible budget

and sorry flipside i dont really wanna buy anything used

You do not want to put those sub in a pre-fab sealed box. They need anywhere from ~4-5 cubes to shine. I would look for something else that you can fit better in your camaro.

Do it right the first time, and have someone build you a custom enclosure.

also i was wondering if a mono amp pushes 500 watts rms does it push that much to two subs or will it be 250 watts per sub?

ya ur best bet is to get something thatll work in that airspace, try some fi ssd's. or alpine type r's. my boy has 2 alpine type-rs doing 142 on 1000 watts and a prefab. and if u want to get all NEW equipment ur going to over spend on the product and shit

i had a 1000 watt kenwood amp with 300 watts rms and a pyramid and eclipse 12 subs in a small sealed box that i bought from a junkie for 60 bucks and it worked fine for about 2 weeks

my friend hooked it up and it sounded pretty good then i think i blew the shit i dunno i smelled like a burnt plastic smell and the shit got quieter and quieter and now i cant hear nothing

now i just wanna get all new shit and make sure i get the best setup i can for my price range the first time

and yall do live kind of far from me, about 2 or 3 hrs. i might just head up to charlotte about 45 mins away

Just go to a local shop and do some listening. You can do a lot with $2k, even at retail prices.

im running my 15" stroker pro in a 5 cubic foot box. i wouldnt recomend going much less than that unless your going sealed.

You might want to wait for the new Stereo Integrity Mag to come out. From reviews of the prototypes, they sound great, have good output, and do great in small sealed enclosures. They should be out by the end of the summer.

ya goto charolette man, go see alan dante or hit up sundown, pm sundownz on here he owns his own brand and its an awesome brand and good prices, with 2k i would get a nightshade 12, saz 1500, and a sax 100.4 for your highs

my car has been in the shop for 2 weeks and i just called them today and found out they had fixxed my window motor the first day i brought it in

if he pms me back the address to his shop ill probably head there
