Question about building a sub box

I didn't do the math, the person that did made the cut sheet wrong.
I measured all the pieces to make sure they were cut right and even pieced the box together before I glued it and somehow missed it. Its not that big of a deal though.

I just tried out the box and it sounds great! So much better then the sealed box I had it in before. Thanks everyone for helping me out!! I will be posting pics of it in my car in like 10 -15 mins

Ohhh, come on, you posted the design up here and you didn't think or even bother to look at the design with all the dimensions shown and compare them to the cut list /part sizes.

How the he!! can you miss a mistake like that if you pieced it together before actually putting it together????

If I ever actually " trusted " someone else's designs without checking them over first to make sure it was " correct ", I'd have alot to " mistakes " piling up.

Never assume that someone else's work is right, because like ya said " He made the mistake ", next time, just take a few minutes to check math and don't be in such a all fired hurry to do it otherwise you'll just be compounding " mistakes ".

and I dont know how I missed it, pretty bad mistake.

What happened is, in the design it has the demisons at 12.5 tall for the left side peice but that counts it sitting on top of the bottom piece which I did not realize. I got all the box put together except for the top so when I placed that on I realized it was short. Kinda pissed off but it still sounds good so no worries. Ill know not to make the same mistakes again next time.

For his first build, I think he did a fine job. Yea, he made some mistakes, but you cant expect a guy that has never done something like this before to catch some of the mistakes, and know the proper procedure. To builders, sure, it seems easy, but to a beginner, some things can easily be over looked.

Did I say " Hey, The box build looks like azz??? " NO.

Questions were bought up as to what happened and all I did was point out the mistakes so in the future he'll know not to put complete faith in that whom ever does his next design or even maybe he'll do his next design that it always pays to take a few minutes to check it over and re-check it just to make sure everything is correct before he starts cutting material.

That's what matters man. You've got two of the best box builders in the business commenting on your box in bjfish11 and Mr Cabinetry so pay close attention to any advice they give you. I bet your next box will be even better. Let's see the vids.

i think u did a pretty good job for ur first box. i just made my first box also. i havent listened to it yet cuz i want it to dry been drying for 2 days so far. how long did u wait?

btw how long is ur box? yourslooks really long. mines is 31"

Mine is like 37

And I waited about 2 days before I put it in. Less if you count the top then about a day.

could I cut a second hole out into my box and add another sub or would I need to build a new box to differn't specs?

Ya got to build a new enclosure to spec's for 2 subs ported.
