Question about building a sub box

You may have cut the front piece shorter than you were supposed to. The port is usually the same size all the way back, but you probably won't notice the difference. It looks pretty good so far. Be sure to get plenty of glue on it when you put the top piece on because you won't be able to get to a lot of it with the silicone after it's on.

edit..it looks like the left side piece changed from going on top of the bottom piece in your plans to going beside the bottom piece. That could account for the difference in port width. I think it'll turn out fine though.

I use GE silicone II window and door silicone. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowes and probably Wal-mart.
Yeah I already had some left over from the windows lol

I put the top on today and will cut the circle out tomorrow! Ill post pics up then

I see you screwed up when planning out the cuts. Other than that mistake, looks like a good first box. That's kind of a big screw-up though. Make sure you seal that section above the port WELL, lots of layers of silicone, or else it's gonna leak like a *****.

I have a little of the wood from the top covering it and I put a little rod in there and covered it with mad silicone, I think it should be ok but yeah that was a pretty dumbass mistake.

My next box build will be much better as I know what I am doing now.

Looks pretty good except for the previously mentioned top piece being too short. How did that left side get changed from what you had to begin with? I see you took the left end piece off after you had it fastened and moved it. Did you cut 3/4 off the top piece after that for some reason? If you're gonna carpet it you can cut a 3/4 by 3/4 piece and glue on there first and you won't be able to see it. You always learn a few thing on your first box. Looks like it should be loud, post some installed pics and vids.

Im not sure what changed. I didnt cut anything off the top piece so idk what happened.

The cut cheet I had was messed up I believe.

His mistake was that when he cut the parts, he did cut them all to the same size in terms of the width that created the height of the enclosure.

The left side part should of been cut to the same width as the Back, Right Side, Front Baffle and Port Walls - That was his first mistake.

The left side part was cut to the length based on the the depth of enclosure rather than the ID depth of the enclosure minus 3/4" for the back wall - That was his second mistake.

The first and foremost mistake he made was he didn't check his math vs the part sizes needed to that of the design he had right in front of him.

If he would of take a few extra minutes to check everything before putting it together, he would of discovered the left side part wasn't correct and trimmed 3/4" off the part to fit the height and depth.

I didn't do the math, the person that did made the cut sheet wrong.

I measured all the pieces to make sure they were cut right and even pieced the box together before I glued it and somehow missed it. Its not that big of a deal though.

I just tried out the box and it sounds great! So much better then the sealed box I had it in before. Thanks everyone for helping me out!! I will be posting pics of it in my car in like 10 -15 mins
