yeah I listen to a lot of rap and r&b. this guy sent me a good box design for 2 cvr's I just don't know how to get started building it. I never built a box before..what kind of music do you listen to?
personally, i listen to a lot of rap and hip-hop/party college music. Thus, i like to tune low because there isnt much in between lows and highs.
And for the same token, low tuning helps when i am listening to music like acoustics or rock, because the bass isnt booming (because i tune low). Instead, i have a nice, softer fadeoff into my mids.
If you listen to rap and whatnot, i'de tune low, and then worry about a sturdy set of midbass speakers. I've had great luck with CVR's tuned in the 32-35hz range. From the issues you are having, tune around 35-36hz, and you will see an improvement in higher frequencies. I wouldnt tune much higher though, because than you start to lose the musical approach to your substage.

...what you mean by midwoofers? Do you mean speakers?
