15" Nightshade Box

Building a new box for my nightshade. Will be running (3) 4" external aeros. I am going to play around with different port lengths to get my score up but what size box should I do? Im thinking 2-2.5 cu ft before displacement. Also I was going to go with sub back port firing towards driver side since that is where the meter goes is in drivers seat. Input?

are you measureing at the drivers side headrest? you should be able to make a box that lets you do sub back and port side and then turn it and it lets you do sub up port side, then turn it so the ports in on the other side. i belive your gonna wait to do sub up port to the passenger side if your measuring at the drivers side and back the driver side door. but dont do meca. we got iasca and db drag here and its mostly done sealed on the dash

Yea, it is drivers side head rest. I was planning on making a box that could be moved to face different ways to see which way gave me the best results. I just need to know how big the actual box should be. I am thinkin right over 2 cu ft before displacement. Anybody?

2cu before displacement?

I wouldn't go that small.

How much power do you have?, only reason I'd ever go that small is if I had almost double the rms for burp.

I'd start around 2.5 to 3cu net and 4 4in aeros.

i would just do 3cf and either 3 4" aeros or 1 6" aero. probly the one 6" cuz it would be easier to work with. only have to cut one aero instead of 3, but then again if you have 3 4" aeros like i have you can use a 4" port plug and plug one for daily and take it out for comps

well rms on the sub is 1500 and i am giving it 3000+. I thot that I read somewhere Jacob, or Derrick was saying that for SPL the nightshades were optimal in small boxes right around 2 cu ft

Then we will definitely stick with 5 spiders for you *laughs*

I do suggest a SMALL box... mine is about 2.4 cubes + port for the 15.

My single 15" box is 2.5ft w/ 3 4" ports. It's a burp box only. My dual 15" box is 6ft w/ 120" of slot port. It's daily friendly. Both are loud at any power level.
