question about an amp

i just bought a jbl gto7001. it is a one channel amp. my question is that it has two inputs and two outputs. wouldnt that make it a 2 channel amp?

yea, i thought a one channel would have one positive out and one negative out. but this has two. i thought that made it a two channel amp.

Yup. Wire one sub to each terminal, same as putting two wires under the same screw.

wrong...some mono blocks they have2 pos and 2 neg for convience of connections. just because it has 2 of each doesn't make it a two channel amp.

so you cant hook up 2 speakers at once, one on each set of terminals?

depending on the speakers and the amp yes. you have to make sure you don't put to much a load on the amp. for example if it's only 2 ohms stable then you could only hook up the equilvilant of 2 4 ohm subs. one per + and -
