Question about Alpine and DVD R

hey guys, I have an IVA W200, my music is starting to pile up. I can burn mp3s to a 4.7gb dvd-r. I have looked all over the owners manual for my question but cant find it. My question is, will these units play dual layer dvd mp3(aka 8.5 gb dvd-r's?

Can you play a DVD with MP3's on it? The manual makes it sound like you can only play CD's with mp3.

I doubt it would play double layer DVD's.

I haven't tried either yet.

No it will not play dual dvd's, i've read that it will damage the lens if you put one in so DON'T use it.

What about movies? Aren't most commercial DVD movies double sided?

He's talking about dual layer not double sided....dual layer means that the laser can reach down to a second layer of information on the same side. A double sided dvd should work just fine.
