Question about 2 12" Type R's

I am thinking about upgrading my 2 12" Alpine Type E's to the Type R's.

I am wondering if the Kenwood KAC-9102D amp would be enough to power 2 12" Type R's?

If not, What amp(s) would you reccomend to push 2 Type R's??

something around a 1500 wrms amp i would say..... i tried 500 wrms once,.... it was alright... not like 750-1000 though.... just set your gains properly

x2. Those things are a little underrated and it's always nice to have a bigger amp than the rms of the subs.

A good box, with some power, and 1 12 type r may be all that you need...

Out of curiosity, would ANY amp that Best Buy sells be enough to power 2 Type R's?? Reason I ask is because I work at Best Buy and obviously can use my discount to price some amps out, to see if I could buy the amp at work or get one online.

If you could get a Kenwood 9152D that would be decent. Idk what kind of money you want to spend but its CEA Compliant power ratings i think 1000@1ohm or try even more power. I have 800w on one and its alright.

Mine will be getting alot of power but if you plan on running 2 just get something like 600x2 rms should be good if not you can always upgrade or move to one sub and bridge it on your amp to get 1000 watts or so

Your man question is are you going sealed or ported becasue ported will be loud with 2 type r's if that what your looking for

if you can get a discount I would just get 2 MRD-M650's. My buddy got the same amp from Best Buy and the Type R. The amp pounded that sub real good. Not to mention his step brother works at Best Buy and got his sub and amp on discount. You can get 2 of those amps pretty cheap with your discount. Im not positive, but maybe one of those amps would do both subs. Dont know alot about them, but seeing what the amp did to one Type R and my buddy saying he hardly played with the amp to get the sound he did. You could possibley use just that amp for both.

rf bd1500 is the perfect match for a pair of r 12's. been runnin it for a while at 2 ohms, these subs really like the 750 rms a piece and take it all day.
