if you want them to be fast you have to do alot of work ? well what about a 400ex lol you would have to do a hell of alot more work to get it fast
Nope, 400ex's are faster stock than the 450r's stock. I know from experience. Now if you put money into it and upgrade stuff, of course it'll be faster. I'm saying, if you don't have the money or don't care to upgrade for the "speed" then the 400ex is a better choice.

My friend spent thousands of dollars to finally get his fast to race. When his was stock I smoked him on the YFZ and 400ex.

Banshee's are junk. Everyone I knew who had one always had a problem with them and sooner or later they blew up.

2 strokes are only good for going fast on flat ground.

I like the newer looks of the 400ex better. Mine is an '06 and they have the same front end design as the 450r's.

I didn't care much for the older models.

you are kidding right ?? i have owned both and there is no way in hell the 400 is faster than the 450
Size doesn't matter. The 450r's are heavier than 400ex's. The 400ex's are lighter and faster than 450r's. I've raced him many times on his track and I was pretty far ahead. Same with the YFZ. 450r's are nice if you spend a lot of money to get them the way you want. That's if you're using them for racing.

My friend took almost everything off the 450r's front end (including headlights) to get less weight.

Just go kill yourself right now, you're wrong get over yourself! The '07 450r is 357lbs with the kick start....the '07 400ex is 386lbs. I think 357 is less than 386. **** that.

Haha yeah I got owned.

Seriously, go talk to some quad racers and see what they say. I bet you they'll say the 400ex's are faster and lighter than the 450r's.

Try picking up the front end on the 400ex and try to pick up the front end on the 450r.

Then we'll see who got owned.

God....your so dam stupid! Why is it that all pro racers now use the 450r's instead of the 400exs? Could it be becuase they are faster and lighter?

So you're saying a 450R stock is faster than a 400ex stock? Haha. Maybe when you compared them, your 400ex was losing power or something. Both the 400ex and his 450r's are new, so I know nothing is dying down. Since he did all his upgrades, lowered the suspension, wider axels, smaller tires for racing, I can't keep up with him now.

I have many friends who race and know all their stuff, so I know what I'm talking about. That's why a lot of people get 400ex's for racing because you don't need to do a lot of work to get it perfect, because they're already fast stock.

450R's on the other hand, they need a lot of work and upgrades to get better power. Do a google search on Quad forums and ask those people there. I'm pretty sure they know what they're talking about.
