Qs die fast?

i beat the shit out of my q... ran an hk4000 to it for a couple months actually. When i sold it the coils weren't dark and still read fine, never had a problem with it.

If someone blew one off 800 watts there's seriously something wrong with their install skillz

You can blow any sub well below the RMS rating if you feed it dirty, clipped power.
If someone blew a Q off 800w, then it was most certainly clipped.
And then it wasn't being fed 800w. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I'm not sure if he blew his Qs. I remember reading something about the surround coming loose from the cone. He may just have very bad luck?

elaborate..... so yer saying a clipped signal within the subs power handling is good for a sub?!... i must say.. this requires some explanation.. i
all clipping is high frequency information that amounts to extra power under the curve.

get a squarewave and start lowpassing with an xover, no more square //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
