Python 990

Only one remote, and $600... ouch.. I hope that's installed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
yes that will be installed...but add another 100-130 if you hook up remote start on it(that is if you have circuit do it)...

say what??? you work at circuit? your guys charge an extra 130 or so to do remote start on top of the 500?
+1, WTF is the internet!?@? So all these shops charge MAP of 500, MSRP is 600, and you guys charge more than that (if you do work at a cc)? Makes sense...

Anyone else placing bets? Im betting that its his car that needed a bypass module for a Passlock or something of the like, that ran him the extra hundred. Saj, please back up your statements with facts next time, especially when they are ridiculous generalizations like that.

Yes i meant of course if you need a bypass or key made...Sorry it was more of a general statement but yes alot of newer cars to run an extra hundred or so for the bypass...and i was not just refering to circuit but if you go to best buy, american, any mom and pop shop it will be extra if you need a bypass

and its really not that rediculous when there are quite a few cars that need the part

The way you said it was ridiculous, being that there was no mention of a bypass, and that you were singling out CC as if they charged more simply for labor. At least its clarified now, back on topic.

lol i really wasnt trying to single circuit out at all. I started the thread saying i worked there and was just trying to find out about the product, so im not gonna bash the company i work for. Sorry for the confusion.

yep we got one in a few days ago and i bought it and swapped it for my 881 xp. Works great the range is unbelievable on it. The brain on the 881 and 990 were the exact same so just plug and play there. The only differences i can tell are a smaller antenna on my windshield, longer antenna on the remote and a blue led instead of red //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

Still a little too expensive for my likings even at employee cost... i'll wait for a new accommodation from dei.

The antenna is a little akward looking, i'm sure if i had one i'd get used ot it.

Yea it was expensive but it only ended up being 270 which was like 20 dollars more than the 881. and really the antenna isnt that much longer than the old ones, and its skinner, plus the windshield mount antenna is like half the length. To the above poster i believe they are retailing for around 550. But i would recommend it highly as far as functionality.

Python 990 is indeed the updated version of the 881XP AFAIK.

The Python 990 is to the Viper 5900 as the Python 881XP was to the Viper 791XV. I.e. the Python 990 is essentially the same thing as the Viper 5900, I believe.

Remotes on the 990/5900 are slightly different from the older remotes, besides the antenna (from the pics I've seen) but the differences are subtle.

The new systems have "Responder SST" as opposed to just plain "Responder" of the 791XV/881XP.

The SST standing for Spread Spectrum Technology... Same deal as with cordless phones, wireless routers, etc--the digital Spread Spectrum business increases the range compared with non-spread spectrum products.
