I found two pyramid phase lll 10" subs today. I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of them and if they did ok or not. I realize they are pyramid but these are pretty old, I saw a copyright on the box for 1984, so I was wondering if pyramid was good back then.

They look exactly like this:

Thanks for any help.

If they rated there RMS power handling capabilities in 1984 the way they have for as long as I have known, they will more than likely blow on stock deck power lol

Wow, a high school flashback...

I had a pair of 10" Phase III's in a truck box running off a PB600 (~'92-93). At ~150w each they'd get semi-loud, but wouldn't touch anything below 60hz or so. Almost more of a mid-bass than a sub, of course a 1/2cf sealed probably didn't help.

The only quality subs Pyramid ever made that I'm aware of would be the "Made in USA" Super Pros. They came from Eminence. Not a bad budget SQ sub.

100 watts rms....wow. lolMy cousin had a pyramid amp 800w and its pretty good....
your "pretty good" = our "**** alot" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

but hey, if you can power these subs with your stock hu use their retail box as enclosure, you've got a real budget system //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

When in doubt, use an app called Signal Generator and play tones in the tens. The phase will be easier to distinguish.
