pete can build a awsome box and can design boxes well but i think he is overrated i know a couple people that had designs done by him that didnt live up to what he preached ..... but i think 50 dollars for a ported box design is rediculous

the subsonic was set where pete had me set it. you could not tell in the car what so ever that the sub was bottoming out. the woofer faced the rear of the car with the deck lid open you could slightly hear some clinks , but on another forum i was told once the trunk was shut it loaded the woofer so thats y i could not hear it in the car even with your head in the opening behind the back seat. we only turned it up halfway on the head unit and the gain was around half way up on the amp. so i just dont see where i went wrong?? how did i over do it when anything less the sub was very weak in output it was comparable to my single 10 on 250 watts. now we have a aq 2200 and a new box thats 2 cubes tuned to 35hz and its going strong no problems. changing the enclosure solved the problems.

im just worried about if im wasting my time building the other design for my dd 9512 i do not want to have the same b/s

A friend of mine has a box from him and its actually one thats on his website for the 2 DD 8s and i was pretty impressed wih it

just long enough to trouble shoot the problem, few seconds then close it, listen from inside the car for the clinking ...none, then back to open trunk clink clink clink close it no clink.

sounds like the enclosure was way wrong for that sub. DD's are very similar, so I'd be leary of his design for them also if it's like the HDC box.

Good old ported will work fine for your DD's...
