kenwoods are pretty solid headunits, my first was also a kenwood, their features are laid out pretty intuitively and sound quality is pretty good. i don't know about the newer ones, but i had a 7 series mask, and the faceplate plastic squeaked and had a lot of play in it when pressing buttons, it didn't feel to comfortable after awhile, after that i moved onto an eclipse 5504, which was great, then sold it for i don't know what reason, then bought a 55040 the next year. i can't say enough about these head units, they are awesome. clean clean clean sound. but they are on the pricey side.
