about 30 seconds, I'm sitting at work quite bored right now, so I'm enjoying this a good bit. And if you didn't have a clue what a ... what was the word you used? "shitpile"? Fosgate was 2 months ago, then your "20 years" experience really doesn't amount to much of diddly squat where this discussion is concerned, does it?

the 200xi asides from being an ugly looking brick is very well indeed the top amp of the fosgate line, if you consider top of a heap of shit as being good. Fosgate has 3 lines of amps...shittiest, shitty, and shit. If you are regarding 200xi as the SHIT liine then yes its one of Fosgates better products, relatively speaking. As for this amp coming close to any of Xtant, Sound stream, eclipse, or even jl audio amps etc.. Amps not even close buddy, its like comparing a replica testerosa built on a camaro chassis to the real thing (testerrosa). What amuses me is cats just getting into car audio first hear Fosgate and are sold because of their supposedly under-rated rms values. If fosgate posted more REALISTIC numbers on those amps to more respectable levels they'd be known for the shit they are as obviously your distoration ratio increases logarithmically with increased gain. Example, rather then post a 300watt amp as 200 watts and low distortion, why not show the real value and how high the distortion gets with the increased gain. Amps like fosgate are for people not seriously into car audio who want something cheap and that they can find at best buy. THe same ppl who purchase kenwood, and panasonic decks because they "look nice" It in essense is the "i cant believe it's not butter" of subwoofer amplifiers. Dont get defensive because you got duped by the salesperson at Best Buy who told you that amp "ROCKED!". I understand your frustration and anger seeing as you are a fosgate amp owner and well...i kind of pitty you but as far as distortion and SOQ (Standard of quality) is concerned, Fosgate is the pits. If you want advice on purchasing a real amp you can private msg if not, this post is done.

BTW .1% though perhaps discnerable by the human ears is really not so at higher dB values. I think i know a thing or two about sound wave and sound technology being a physics major. Go cry about fosgate to the fosgae boards where you'll find sympathy with the other newbie weekend warrior car audio circuitcity/bestbuy purchasing losers.

I just figured I'd chime in and give a few props to the RF amp. I’ve got an older Punch 150 that runs 2 Cerwin Vega 200 SE home speakers and its very decent. The transana model amps were the best of rockford fosgate. All amps after that were not so great. I own 2 of the biggest transana models and I am pretty satisfied with them. 1100a2 and the 800a4.
