Publix?

my little sister worked there as well as winn dixie...publix is the more upscale store around this area if you will...they pay better i believe than many of the other stores...she seemed to like it, she was a cashier and later worked in the HR dept before she went off to work for a laboratory...

Work there for like 4+ years. One of the only companies that willl hire you at 14 years old. I was a bagger for a few years and then did some stocking for a while. It's a "richy, high class" type of grocery store. You will typically get your old snoby people shopping there. Pay is decent for a younger person and increase pretty quickly, until you max it out. The reason I quit was because the manager would only have 4 people closing the store, which is like a 9 person job. She did that to make herself look good and keep the payroll down, but overworked us like crazy. That and Publix will NEVER support you ever, even if you did nothing wrong. If a customer is very obvoisly wrong and is making some outragous ignorant claim, you will be treated like scum for a long time. Right before I quite, they actually started taking money back from me, reducing my hourly pay I was getting to punish me! There was also a ton of micro-managing going on, everyone was your boss and ordered you what to do! One person would tell you to do something, and you would get in trouble by another for doing it! And they are so damn anal about "carry outs". Every single person HAS to have help to their vehicle no matter how small the order is OR if they tell you not to. And you are not allowed to receive tips for any carryout either. The only great thing to say about working there is they are VERY flexable with your schedule. You name it and they will put you down to work it, almost everytime. Overall, it's a great job for younger kids that can't get any other job, other than that... find another grocery store.

Well right now I work at a stocker at winn dixie and Im just tired of the way the managers treat me. They dont care what anyone else does, noone ever shows up leaving all the work for me, and then I get *****ed at for not working fast enough. Im their most reliable stocker, longest employed stocker, and lowest paid stocker. Im just tired of all the shit from the managers, they dont care about you. If you tell them you gotta leave at 10:30 even when you're only scheduled until 10 to get homework done, they tell you "It doesnt affect me so i dont really care. You're staying as late at we need you." And im tired of all the cheap, old, dirtbags in WD. 1 out of 10 people dont even wear shoes.

The thing that sucks is that at Publix is that the shifts are kinda long... 2pm-midnight. My friend works there and he said its good, but its not uncommon to get out at around 2am. I do think they pay about $8 an hour though. Id be making way more money.... From about $110 a week to like $250 a week.

Idk ill do the app this week.

**** you must have been working some serious ot for ur set up, but, i would quit there if they do that shit its just not right. One of my friends just started working there he says its okay plus we get free beer from there.

Publix Ownz Florida, there is one almost every other block. Not sure about the rich/snoby comment, it seems like a normal place to me (almost Hospital like). From what I know they are good employers.
