Work there for like 4+ years. One of the only companies that willl hire you at 14 years old. I was a bagger for a few years and then did some stocking for a while. It's a "richy, high class" type of grocery store. You will typically get your old snoby people shopping there. Pay is decent for a younger person and increase pretty quickly, until you max it out. The reason I quit was because the manager would only have 4 people closing the store, which is like a 9 person job. She did that to make herself look good and keep the payroll down, but overworked us like crazy. That and Publix will NEVER support you ever, even if you did nothing wrong. If a customer is very obvoisly wrong and is making some outragous ignorant claim, you will be treated like scum for a long time. Right before I quite, they actually started taking money back from me, reducing my hourly pay I was getting to punish me! There was also a ton of micro-managing going on, everyone was your boss and ordered you what to do! One person would tell you to do something, and you would get in trouble by another for doing it! And they are so damn anal about "carry outs". Every single person HAS to have help to their vehicle no matter how small the order is OR if they tell you not to. And you are not allowed to receive tips for any carryout either. The only great thing to say about working there is they are VERY flexable with your schedule. You name it and they will put you down to work it, almost everytime. Overall, it's a great job for younger kids that can't get any other job, other than that... find another grocery store.
