PS3 720vs1080 tv?

By the way, I would say sony makes the best lcd and plasmas. Samsung is probably the best deal! I would say its the second best. Great picture but the sound isn't as good as sonys. When I was shopping around I did alot of research, I was looking at a samsung and my sony bravia. After playing with the volumes I went with the sony. It cost more but was worth it in my opinion.

eh:rolleyes: 1080i=720p 1080p is the best possible picture. Bluray from the ps3 looks amazing on my 46" sony bravia 1080p lcd
1080i is not equal to 720p. 1080i is better than 720p.

also while 1080p is technically better than 1080i, i guarantee that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference if you looked at the two side by side. and if you did notice a difference between two different sets the resolution wouldn't be the difference.

and there are quite a few reasons that CRT tv's still beat all the expensive LCD tv's.

im not buying for the sound they produce. i have a ht for that. also bravia's are nice tv's but i have heard that they are returned a lot for warranty work.

not arguing with you on them being nice though. i do like the picture and they do produce a descent sound for a flat panel. samsungs sound like a tin can

What? It depends more on your screen but a 1080i picture has more data than a 720p simply because of the pixel resolution. Put the progressive picture will appear to be a bit smoother, but that depends a lot on the TV and its processing.

My Elite isn't 1080p native (42" PRO-940HD) but it will still accept a 1080p direct signal and it looks great. But, it annoys me because my brothers TV looks better, PDP-5010FD 50" Pioneer Kuro. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

alrighty well i think im going to go ahead and splurge the extra 100 and get the 40" with 1080p just so i wont have to upgrade anytime soon.

thanks guys
I would defiantly op to go with the TV that has the 1080p native resolution. The less converting digital has to go through the better. But, with a TV under 42" either will work just fine.
