Hey guys, I was just wondering what everybodys thoughts were on protein intake for weight training. Ive been researching it as of late, and 2g/1lb bodyweight seems to be ideal for gaining mass. A friend of mine, who is much larger than me, says that there is no way the body can use more than around 120g of protein a day........I think he is full of it. He keeps saying, when you are as big as me, then we will talk......lol Thoughts? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

yeah, I have heard about 1.5 grams per pound. However, I have heard from a nutrition specialist that your body can't really use that much protein. But I do know that Arnold took at least 300 grams per day. So, do what you want. Eat a lot of lean meats. It is great to take protein shakes for extra protein but the best thing you can do is getting on a really good diet I think.

no its more then 1g per pound if you want to bulk. I started off weighing in at 173lbs. I took in about 200g of protein a day + as many calories as I could stuff in my mouth + eating right and lots and lots of water, and put on 17lbs of muscle mass in 8 weeks. Too much protein and not enough water can result in kidney pain, so be careful.

Usually its 1g per lb you weigh. A good protein shake to use is ONS whey protein. It tastes good and works. You could find it at bodybuilding.com. I've been lifting for a while and know lots of stuff about weightlifting. PM me or ask on the here if you got any questions. I can help you out.

Depends on your body weight, eating habits / daily intake of nutrients, metabolic rate, exercise and activity, your goals, etc.

Generally 1-2g's / lb will work.

Hopefully it gives you a fair amount of gas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Yeah, ive been reading up on bb.com and other sites, Ive been working out seriously for around 6 months now, and I have grew quite a bit (22lbs). I use ON whey......its the best tasting that I have found. Nitro tech is the nastiest shit I have ever used. It makes me sick to think about it.

Well, I dont know if you are talking about the same gas that I am, but you can ask Nick.....my farts smell worse than a sackfull of buttholes!!!

nitro tech tastes the best IMO especially mixed with crushed ice. i actualy sip on the nitro tech because it tastes so good. designer whey sucks unless you mix it with water which works very well. i stick with roughly 1 gram per body pound and i feel it is enough. you can get 5 lbs of designer for like $28 shipped.
