Protective Foam Baffles, will it kill my SQ???

in essence it is an enclosure.. a REALLY big sealed enclosure
Incorrect, but a common misconception. IB is a situation in which the the driver acts as if the air behind the cone is not enclosed. If you do an IB install correctly, the sub will perform the same whether you contain the rear waves within the trunk compartment, or if the rear of the sub was open to direct sky. IB, by definition, is the absence of an enclosure, so far as cone excursion compliance is concerned.

now in an IB, the front waves and back waves are still seperated by the baffle right? so this is techinally different from free air.

we'll see how the jl's sound once i have them in, hopefully you're right about the pressure being neglidgible.

Oh Im right. There are plenty of much more massive systems on this forum than yours, how many ties have you read about any of them building some sort of midwoofer protection system into their front stage? A complete non-issue.

I dont think Ive ever heard of W1's being used for midbass duties. Is there a reason you chose these drivers?
