I have a skar RP 150.4 now when hooked up to remote wire the protection light comes on.Grounds are good all new wire and still on.If I jump it to a 12v ign source it doesn't come on I even tried 2 other head units seems the remote wire causes protection light to come in even if I hook it up to my DSP remote.Anyone had these issues I sent the amp back it was checked out all good

I have never experienced a protection light coming on due to low voltage. That's a new issue, for me. Could your remote wire be pinched and grounded somewhere and causing your amp to see a lower voltage? You say your ground and power are good, and your speakers are disconnected? But you turn on the radio and the amp goes into protect, but if you connect the remote to a 12v switched wire, the amp comes on? Does it play music?

It plays even with protection light on and remote wire test 12v but hooked up too a 12v ignition source the light don't come on speakers hook up

What make/model of car and which wire did you try to use? Not all wires that show 12VDC can drive anything that requires more than a few milliAmps- did you connect that wire to the fuse block or tap into a wire for something else?

The manual shows the reasons for the protection indicator illuminating- does it happen as soon as you turn it on, or after it has been on for awhile?

I sent it back too them they tested it and said it's good had to be something in vehicle then
I just saw that you sent it in- did you use the recommended power wire gauge for your model AND did you increase the size of the ground wire from the body to the battery? If you don't, that skinny ground wire will never let the amp perform and it can cause problems.

Voltage and Current are two completely different things.

Soon as you turn it on the protect light comes on when hooked to radio or remote on DSP and the remote wire is 20awg
Am I correct in thinking that the amp works, but the protection light is on? That's how I understood it from one of your posts. It may just be low voltage- are you measuring this at the amplifier, at its main + and - terminals? You need to do that- if it shows less than battery or charging voltage, read my other post about the body ground wire.

Remote turn on circuits use very little current. As a test, turn off everything in the car (and remove the key from the ignition switch), disconnect the remote turn on wire from the amp, then connect the remote terminal and positive power terminal. If it turns on, you need to do something different for remote turn on.

The head unit- what is it? The combination of the DSP and amp may be too much for the circuit in the head unit. Need the brand/model.
