protection light and thumping?

ok so today i went and was going to switch out my fuse holder to a anl holder and found that the awg holder that was 80 amps had melted but the fuse was fine. so i switched the holder out anyway to 100 amps, i turned the car on to test the system before i put everything back and the protetion light came on and the subs seem to be making a constant thumping (the cones on the subs move into the motor and release and make a thump). i disconnected the subs and the amp is still in protection mode, the amp does get hot but its a 3600 watt peak with a rms of around 1600-1800. why could this be? is the amp burned out? bad ground?

could be rca grounding out, bad ground, or since your fuse holder melted there could be a burned spot in the wire

how do you replace a burnt spot in a wire? just cut it away and recrimp the eyelet?
