Protect mode?

Just got an amp, wired it up and it plays and all, but only for a little bit, then goes into protect. It's a cadence txa1000d or something like that. Used, but was just refurbed by the factory if I remember right.

It's pushing 1 DVC4ohm Type R right now, wired to 2 ohms. It works fine when it is playing, but I'm not sure why it keeps going into protect. The gains are set about halfway.

I had another amp wired in a few weeks ago, same wiring setup and all, and it was working fine.

Ideas? thanks.

Furthermore, I disconnected everything except the power, remote, and ground, and it STILL goes into protect.

What the hell is going on with this thing?

Could it be a serious voltage drop causing it to go into protect after a bit?
Thats what I was thinkin at first. It dimmed my lights pretty bad on stock electrical in my civic but after big 3 and new batt up front voltage was stable then. Check your voltage
