protect mode

i have a kicker ZX1500.1 and i'm thinking of running 2 8w7's (1.5 final load). I have heard of people running the 2500.1 at one ohm with no problems, but just in case, is the only thing that would happen is the amp going into protect? dropping the ohms too low shouldn't cause any other damage right?

Incorrect... could definately cause damage if you leave it at one ohm for long enough. Kicker amps are well built and have a history of taking low impedances, but doesn't mean that it CAN'T damage your amp.

also would probably be at around 2 ohms after impedance rise anyways

well i'm just running my stock alternator, but that is 150A I believe.
