protect light on amp

also, check the remote turn on wire, make sure the wire insulation is not inside the amp terminal. You want to make sure the only thing underneath it is the bare copper from the wire.

i've had this problem and fixed it, it took me forever to identify it though.

trying wiring straight to batt now......................ok, hooked straight to battery no protect light pos and neg but remote to pos means protect light comes on.

see what i mean completely useless ... ...

i had already checked all the fuses

nah im only touching the remote wire to the terminal, as the light comes straight on i know right away its still not working, so no, i dont have any wire insulation under the terminal aswell

i may not be an expert or anything just but dont take advice from endofdays ... im sure LOTS of people on here can confirm he is a complete dumb *** who doesn't know shit about troubleshooting any type of car audio problem
LMAO!

THIS!

Check your gains, unplug the RCA's (with the car off first) then turn the car on. If the amp boots up in protect, turn the car off, reconnect, and check the grounds... if none of these fix it, you have a broken amp, sir. Sorry.

so did you jump a wire to the remote? like when you hooked it straight to the batter pos to pos neg to neg and a wire from the pos to the remote and it still went into protect ? if so that rules out your wiring and you have a amp that needs repiar ...

hi guys,
the protect light is on on my amp. i have tried everything i know to get it to go off but it wont. amp worked fine then just stopped working one day. i have tried everything i can find on the internet to help me but nothing has worked.

ground wire seems fine

sound like a fvcked amp, how long have you had it?

zack39648 - yes that is what happened

turdferfueson2-

sony explode head unit

sony explode 6x9 rear speakers

2 x sony explode 12inch subs

1 x 500wrms sony explode amp

1x 800wrms sony explode amp

pos and neg wires are 8 gauge

speaker wires to subs are 8 gauge too

speaker wires to 6x9's are just standard speaker wires

one rca cable which is split from 800wrms amp to 500wrms amp

i should point out im not bothering with subs right now or the 800wrms amp, just trying to get the 500wrms and speakers working so i can at least listen to music
