Proper Polyfill Usage

Alright Im venturing into my SQ build and Im a little concerned. This is my first polyfill use. Ill be using a 1.1 cube sealed enclosure before displacement. The displacement on my Evo TC2+ is .08 cubes. I have 1 pound of polyfill. Ive read that its supposed to be filled loosely and roughly 1 pound per cube up to 1.5 pounds per cube. Issue is I dont even have the whole bag in there yet and its already pretty stuffed so this leads me to my question.

What is the proper way to use Polyfill?

^^^What he said. It works on the principle of the fibers being in motion.

You'll be fine, man. Just use the right amount and fluff it a bit before stuffing it in. No worries.

So it should be rather loose? I have about half a bag in there and it still seems kind of dense. I have some images if youd like to see them.

Doesn't need to be loose.....more fibers means more heat.

The only reason to really use the fill is if your box is undersized. The most you can make the sub "see" is 1.5 cubes, even with poly......so how undersized is the box?

The term loose is relative when applied to fill. If you take a ball of fill about 10" in diameter, you can compress it enough to fit the inside of your closed fist. That's compressed too much, lol. The hard part is already figured out - the amount. All you need to do is fluff it a bit to spread the fibers somewhat and go to town. Don't worry so much. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Like CHEMMINS said, you can try using half since you're already so close to the ideal amount of airspace. You're really doing it to smooth impedance and extend frequency response just a bit more than you are trying to compensate for a lack of working airspace.

Of importance, though, is that you don't allow any of the fibers to make their way into the pole vent or suspension. Bad news.

Ok good deal. Thats mostly what I was worried about. I am contemplating grabbing an orange sack and stapling it around the cut out about an 1" away to keep the fibers away from the sub.
