Proper IMAGING.....

I am going to be building "stock" custom doorpods for a specific model of car. If they prove to be easy to replicate I'll be producing them in quantity and selling them to people who own the same make of car as the one I have.

I typically remote mount the tweeter up in the windsheild pillar, but alot of doorpods I see have the tweets right next to it.

Is there a "standard" way to point or place the mid/tweeter that will sound decent in most situations?

Unfortunately, probably not. Two things I've heard are 1) left tweeter aimed at left ear and right tweeter aimed at right ear 2) aim tweets at the dome light. That's is all I know. I'm sure others are way more versed on this subject then me.

Thanks, maybe someone will know.

its different for everyone and their installs. I've had alot of luck with aiming my tweets in front of the domelight. I suggest playing around with a few different ones and see what works best for you.

Well, this is what's best for pretty much everybody. It looks like at the domelight for the tweets is gonna be it, or at least what I'm gonna mess with first... Is it "at the headrest" for the mids? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif

heres my method

point each mid at the center of the opposite window. the headrest is too far back and tends to pull the stage toward you (what you dont want) but some cars have crazy center consoles so its hard.

i dont have tweets so its not my area of expertise, but id try and aim them even further forward.

but again, you need to play around and figure out what sounds best.

Thanks, I just have no idea where to even BEGIN to point the speakers. This will help me immensely!

Thanks for the input, I'll be sure to post a lotta pics.

i recomend hooking them up in a stock position with stock aiming *(if your able to do this easy) and literally moving your head around to see where it sounds the best - then adjust that "sweet spot" to where you normally listen/sit

interesting about the dome light advice - sounds like it would work as a good rule - only if they are in the kicks though - if they are up high door/pillar i dont know about aiming them up - i've never dont that before

find the sweet spot and move adjust accordingly
