Proper guage for my Massive P1000.1

So here's the thing. Im running two amps in my car, both of them in my trunk so i can ground them in the same place. For my 12'' Mag, im running a Massive P1000.1 @ 1ohm which is rated at around 1000wrms. My speakers are running off of a P400.4 which im bridging to give 200w x 2 @ 4ohms to a set of Crystal SSCS6's. Im running 1/0 guage back to the trunk, then running that to a 3 way distro from Knu...from the distro i will be running wire to the amps.

I will be running 4 guage to the p400.4 which will have to be cut down at the end to fit the amp. I was also planning on runnin 1/0 guage to the P1000.1 but with the dimensions of my trunk and where the amps will be mounted, it is gonna be really hard to wire the amp with 1/0 guage. The wire is so unflexible that it makes running it to the amp really difficult.

Will it be sufice to run 4 guage to the p1000.1 or is 1000wrms pushing it for 4 guage? Would 1/0 guage be optimal in this condition, or will it not make much of a difference for me to notice and i should just run 4 guage?

Thanks...

Since it is a mono amplifier, it is probably class D, no? According to the wire guide in these forums, 4 guage can handle up to 1400 watts on a class D amp. If it's a class AB, that would be pushing it, and you may want to go atleast 2 guage.

Good luck!

All it says on the massive site that it is a pro-series mono-block amplifier. It doesent say anything about class D. In fact, it has a seperate link for their class D amps, which leads me to believe that my amp is in fact A/B //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif .

I dunno maybe one of you guys could check it out and give me an opinon. All of the amps are on the left hand side, mine is under "Pro-series mono block"

Yeah the distance is like maybe 2 feet at the most. Thank god i get to work with 4ga again. 1/0 guage is teh uber thick and unflexible //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

How do you know?
Try reading the manual or the spec sheet.

The spec sheet says it's efficiency is 85%, only a Class D amp would have that.

Then the manual says "Pro Series Class D amplifier" in the very first line.
