Let me begin by saying I'm new.to car.audio as.a whole and have no idea.about what anythingmeans yet. I have just purchased the Rockford fosgate ps3s subs for my truck and from what they explain is that is 400 rms and 800watt max @ 1ohm now I'm curious if my basic 1000w Kenwood monoblock would be.suitable for.this set.up or.whether I should beef it up some more and go to the kicker kx1600.1?

I do apologize I got no idea what d4 or d2 means.

I do apologize after looking through it once again it would be the d2 series.

Reason he asked is cuz you need an amp that makes its power at 2 ohms or is .5 ohm stable. Look at the sound stream ref 500.1 or 1000.1

I don't have the amp infront of me right now but I know it's a 1000.1

Also can someone please shed some light for me as to what it means that the ps3s has a.load.of 2ohm but yet under the loaded.enclosure section of rockford fosgates site it is labeled as being wired for a 1 ohm load? But yet it's.still the same sub? I also bought the loaded.enclosure if that helps any.

how many subs do you have?

the d part of it is the number of coils

the 2 or 4 is the actual number,resistance of the voice coils

you have to match your subs to the amp.if you do a series- parallel with your 4-2ohm coils,you get a 2 ohm load to your amp,if you do all parallel,you get a .5 ohm load.

all this in the above line is if you have 2 subs.

Yeah its for 2 subs so how would that wire to my amp? Have two wires.leading off each terminal to each sub. Almost like a Y? This is the way my current subs in my.car.are.wired
