for the 4th order bandpass make the ported area big if u want to have a more efficient boxI'm liking what I'm seeing with a 4th and 6th order badpass boxes. I've got to play around to get the best freq response AND more db's. I'm using 8.5 @ 27 w 130 as my bassis for SQ box and a 5.4 @ 36 with 170 inch as my bassis for SQL
Trucks like upfiring... walls in a truck cab aren't so good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.giffiring upwards was the plan. I can also wall If need be but I don't wanna wall for one 18 unless I HAVE to
WTF... 70?ok get this how bout a 8 cu ft @ 29hz with 130 inch, now have a removeable top thats maybe like 4-5 cu ft. tuned to 70. I'm playing with it now.
my goal is a freq response thats pretty flat from 20-70. but with the abillity to turn off the eq and burp and tuned to 70 it'll peak about 3 dbs higher there. then if I start the low pass roll off around 60 I'll still get decent kick from the 70-80 peak hopefully giving me a flat response if I cross and eq it rightWTF... 70?
XXX's don't like high note SPL...
Plus, you truck prolly peaks around 45-50...

Well duh.alright. I've been playing with boxes anywhere from 5.5-18 cu ft tuned anywhere from 27-36 hz I want it as loud as possible. but It has to hit that low note in soul survivor and say it to my face. noah, I got more room in my truck than you do. I'm not sure how much but I'm thinking 20 gross is possible maybe more (without the rear seats I was able to lay a 3x4 foot dry-erase board flat on the floor)
all trucks? ....tacoma ext cab? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifWell duh.
I'm saying, trucks are low note vehicles... you truck will peak in the 45-55hz range... so if you want to have some SPL type box (removable port or whatever) tune to around 43-48hz... for the SPL type part of it.
With a XXX, because of XBL^2... you're not going to have great response to 70-80hz. There will be a VERY large roll-off @ around 60hz. I wouldn't xover the sub any higher than 63hz Lowpass...
I had mine tuned to 33hz... and the low note on soul survivor... was WICKED... it's sick. Even if you want to tune to like 30hz... but personally I'd tune to 31hz if I had the chance to do it all over again.

Pretty much, most truck will peak ~45-55hz...all trucks? ....tacoma ext cab? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Since I have about 120 sq. ft. of deadener in mine, on all panels including the roof... mine peaks @around 64hz...
