I didn't get to work on the Stingray today....I had to put my home theater entertainment center together....that was a biitch...maybe tomorrow.....

Do you have a spare Capacitor laying around? If you get noise, you can try using the cap as a noise filter. I recall using one in my 1996 Thunderbird and a friend's 80s era full size pickup truck to reduce the alternator whine that was dang near impossible to eliminate.

I have a couple of older heavy duty noise filters...on standby....I'm very curious to the noise I may receive when I hook the deck up...I'm almost dreading it...heck the factory AM-FM deck even got some noise...lol

You didnt have a system in it before. You had a pair of flea market 4x6s. Thats not a system, and it didnt sound good.

What are you upgrading to? A second pair of $25 4x6s?

I put top of the line Kenwood Excelon 4x6's in it...they had the best reviews and specs out of all 4x6's I read about...When I do something I do it big....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

They are $60 speakers that can take 20rms. That sounds like lower end stock speaker replacement meant to be ran off deck power. They may sound ok, but not top of the line by any means.

They were the only 4x6's I could find that would play down to 40hz.....plus the high end at 25khz wasn't to bad either

You should buy some AC Shockwave equipment, CRX. Their stuff is expensive, and seeing as NOONE buys it, I guess you could consider it rare...

I'm trying to sale the current sub and amp in the Stingray so I can upgrade....
