I have 2 re xxx 2008 magnet motors. I was going to take the motor and remove the magnet slug out of one and add it to the other and cnc a new top to fit. Is there any befit i would get out of doing this?

you'll have less bl fluctuation through heavy excursion, but the regular motor for a new xxx already has all the force it needs for its huge amount of xmax,

not to mention that i have yet to see a new xxx get anywhere near its huge excursion without blowing or smelling to shit.

the coil cant handle the power that would enable it to move near its 50ish mm xmax

hell ive seen one blow off 2200 rms not clipping and in a sealed box.

Its very possible to do and relatively easy, it's just not easy in a car where space is a constraint.

The split coil is a cool design, basically the exact opposite of XBL^2, instead of 2 gaps with one coil moving between the gaps to keep BL linear it is one gap with 2 coils moving in and out of it to keep thing linear. The main thing is, with either design, there is always a constant amount of coil in the gap.

How do you plan on doing the basket running a threaded rod thru the basket to the original bolt holes? Your gonna have to space it alittle off the top plate for it to work correct I think ask teamPSI he can probly help ya with ideas. Also your gonna need a big spider spacer if you want that much xmax that basket can handle i think 32mm tops im not sure tho
